Thomas H. Gerson, MBA, CIMA, CPWA, CRPC | Managing Partner
Tom Gerson is the Managing Partner and a Wealth Manager at Blair Hall Advisors, which he established in 2013. Tom was educated at Princeton University, where he graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in public policy and studied with former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. He also completed an MBA at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. With more than 25 years of combined experience as a private investor and at leading Wall Street firms, Tom’s professional aspiration is to provide the highest-quality advisory relationship that each client has ever experienced—as discussed in our video.
Earlier in his career, Tom spent ten years in a range of leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies, primarily as a director and senior director at Gap Inc. and Amazon.com. There he led product-management and technology teams to launch and grow some of the country’s leading e-commerce businesses. In addition, he took leadership roles at two Silicon Valley Internet start-ups and worked as a strategy consultant, both at a boutique firm and at Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
Before college Tom attended New York City’s Ethical Culture–Fieldston Schools, which taught him the importance of strong ethics in all areas of life. Maintaining strong ties to his alma maters, Tom has served as a Governor of the Princeton Association of New York City and is active in the Seattle chapter of the Stanford University business school alumni association.
Tom is a Certified Investment Management Analyst®, Certified Private Wealth Advisor® and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®, under the auspices of well-regarded private organizations.
Tom, his wife, Shelly, and their children live in Seattle, while their hearts also belong to the East Coast. Although the kids are increasingly busy with school and music, Tom still relishes sharing his love of math, science, and Lego with them.
